Could You Transform Apples to Any Snack?

Apple is a popular fruit for that you can eat for your health and also have a Healthy Cook Recipe with the proverb "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." Apples are an important ingredient in many desserts such as apple pie, apple crumble, apple crisp and apple cake. They are often eaten baked or stewed, and they can also be dried and eaten or re-constituted for later use.

Kitchenware
- 9−inch pie pan
- Large heavy saucepan
- Large mixing bowl and Small bowl
- Spatula

Ingredients

For Crust:

- 1/3 cup rolled oats
- 1 egg (white)
- 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
- 6 graham crackers
- Buttered flavored vegetable cooking spray

For Filling:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups apple cider
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 5−6 large green apples (about 2 1/2 pounds)

Topping:
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Preparation

  1. Add the oats, graham crackers and walnuts until finely ground to an oven with the 350-degrees heat.
  2. Add the egg white and blend them until dissolve.
  3. Surface a pie pan with a cooking spray. Put the crumb mixture equally into the pie pan for the pie crust. Then, surface with cooking spray again.
  4. Take it into the oven and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Take it off and wait until it ready to use.
  5. Boil a cider in a large heavy saucepan over high heat. Cook about 15 minutes or until reduce to 1/2 cup.
  6. Add the sugar, pumpkin pie spice, lemon juice, and vanilla to a large mixing bowl. Pour the mixture into the bowl.
  7. Pare off the apples and cut into quarters. Remove the core and slice. Put the apples into the cider mixture and stir. Scatter the cornstarch over the apples and combine the mixture.
  8. Prepare the apples in the crust. Also, mix the brown sugar, oats, cinnamon and walnuts together in a small bowl. Then, pour the melted butter into the bowl and mix them.
  9. Scatter the topping over the apples, pat down with your hands and bake about 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350-degrees heat.
