5 Recipes: Something New For Dinner

Deciding what you are going to serve your guests for dinner can be tough. You have to consider the number of guests you have, your budget and then find a menu that would be suitable. For Dinner

1. Bacon wrapped in quiche minis
This is an easy to prepare recipe but takes some time. The quiches and potatoes can be prepared the day before and kept in the refrigerator. Just warm them in the microwave for a few seconds on the day when you decide to prepare the meal. You’ll need a good pan to prepare your muffin tins. Bacon wrapped crust-less quiches can also be served as a snack or appetizer.

2. Turkey with black rice salad
This is the perfect dinner menu if you want something healthy that you can quickly prepare and have it in the fridge using some leftovers. You’ll need to roast turkey thighs and what’s left over can be chopped up and put in the salad together with wild rice and assorted vegetables. Black cherries and walnuts can be added if you are having a buffet.

3. Reverse seared steaks
You’ll need good quality steaks to prepare this meal. Start with a hot oven 200 degrees and room temperature steaks. Leave the steak in the oven for about 20 minutes until it gets to 110 to 115 degrees internally. You can use a thermometer to check the temperature of the steak. You can even sear the steaks in a grill pan or the stove top. Just heat the pan using some olive oil and sear the steak for 1 ½ to 2 minutes on each side then remove it from heat and slice. You can finish up by putting the steaks in a pat of butter.

4. Oven poached salmon
Poach salmon in the oven in white wine and some seasoning. You can add some whole grain mustard for flavor and appearance. Adding whole grain mustard really makes the recipe pop. Allow the seasoning; crushed pepper flakes to boil in a small pan for about 2 minutes. Place the salmon in a baking dish then pour some hot wine mixture and bake it for about 10 minutes on each side. Add some mustard and sugar sauce over the fish when it’s done and then broil it for 3 to 5 minutes.

5. Teriyaki rice bowl with carrot ginger dressing
This recipe is made using some delicious rice filled with teriyaki chicken, mango, some lettuce and carrot/ginger dressing. Prepare the sauce by adding soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar and sesame seeds in a pan and bring it to boil. Make sure the sauce cooks for about 15 minutes until it thickens. Add the chicken and stir fry until its done. You can layer a scoop of rice at the bottom of the bowl and then add chicken together with the rest of the ingredients. Can be garnished with sesame seeds.
